Pastor Shannon:
June was a wonderfully busy month. We hosted the Night of Worship as well as the Christian Church of the Southwest Disciples’ Women Assembly. We also had the honor of walking beside the Dan Loving Family in their time of grief as we celebrated the life of a wonderful man. I just want to say thank you to all of you who attended, prepared music, assisted with our AV needs, cooked and served food, decorated, cleaned before and after, and provided security and administrative support for the event. We are truly an incredible team and that was very evident this past month. Thank you all so much for just being you, and for being willing to glorify God as you used your gifts and talents to serve Him.
You are a blessing!!

Pastor’s Class
Will take place each Sunday in August following the morning worship service. This class will be for anyone age 8 or older who has begun to ask questions about his or her faith and/or baptism. Please let Pastor Shannon know by Sunday, July 31 if you or someone you know is interested in participating.

FCC United First VBS
Hi FCCU families!

We are so excited to announce that NORB-E is coming to our VBS on July 16th from 9:30 – 4:30!

His name is Non-Organic Robot Buddy—Explorer Class, but you can call him NORB-E. He’s a space exploration assistant tasked with helping us on our mission to seek the glory of God in the furthest reaches of the universe. You’d better buckle up, though, there’s turbulence ahead! Captain Crank is the crankiest kitty in all of outer space, and he won’t stop until our plans are puuurfectly foiled. Don’t worry, though! With the help of NORB-E, we’ll outwit that cranky kitty and discover that the glory of God is out of this world!

Parents – Please either fill the registration form at church or complete and email back to me. There is a $10 fee for each child attending. If you need financial assistance please reach out to Caroline.

This is going to be an incredible day, and we don’t want anyone to miss out—so invite your friends, neighbors, and classmates to get in on this intergalactic VBS action! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. We can’t wait to see your kids at VBS! It’s going to be a blast!

For any questions email ([email protected]) or call/text (817-312-0203).
Yours,

Caroline Cremer

BIRTHDAYS AT JULIETTE FOWLER
The NTA DWM CWF
Juliette Fowler in the past gave monthly birthday parties for the residents and has relied on the North Texas Area Women to locate area churches to be a part of this program. I have volunteered the women in the church to kick off the birthday.
From Laura Porting Development Coordinator Juliette Fowler.

It was so lovely speaking with you on the phone today! We are looking forward to having the ladies from FFC United host the July Birthday Party for our Seniors at Juliette Fowler Communities. Thank you so much for signing up to volunteer at the July Birthday Party on Thursday, July 28th from 2:00 – 3:00 pm at Juliette Fowler Communities. Please arrive at least 30 minutes early to the session that you are able to locate the Assisted Living Dining Room in the Pearl Nordan Care Center and setup in preparation for the Birthday Party that begins promptly at 2:00 pm. We are happy to welcome volunteers back into our Licensed and Non-Licensed Areas of Senior Living with a set of Covid-19 Protocols enforced by our licensing agencies. This includes signing in upon entry of volunteer visit, please see sign in kiosk instructions for more info.

Please note that all volunteers are required to enter through our Main Entrance of the Pearl Nordan Care Center for proper screening. This address is 1260 Abrams Road. There will be two gates at the side entrance, pull up in front of the one on the right, on the corner of East Side Ave and N Fulton St, locate the “call box” (large metal electronic device) and press “call”. A Fowler Staff member will then request your name and reason for visit, then buzz you in.
Also, we ask that each individual volunteer wear a mask during their visit.
We are grateful that the FCC United Church group is able to provide the following for next month’s party:

  1. Birthday cake and/or cupcakes
  2. Sugar-free option
  3. Cake plates
  4. Forks
  5. Napkins
  6. Cutting/serving knife if-needed
  7. Punch supplies
  8. Cups
  9. Ice

We will be following-up with the names of the individuals we are to celebrate in July, if the group would like to put together birthday cards for these folks.
If you have any trouble locating the Pearl Nordan Care Center day-of, you can contact our Reception Staff at 214-515-1301.
Thank you SO much and please let me know if you have any questions.

Best, Laura
