SUMMARY:Sunday Worship
DESCRIPTION:I Peter 1:3-9\n\n\n3  All praise to God\, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his\n\n\ngreat mercy that we have been born again\, because God raised\n\n\nJesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great\n\n\nexpectation\,  4  and we have a priceless inheritance—an\n\n\ninheritance that is kept in heaven for you\, pure and undefiled\,\n\n\nbeyond the reach of change and decay.  5  And through your faith\,\n\n\nGod is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation\,\n\n\nwhich is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see.\n\n\n6  So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead\, even though you\n\n\nmust endure many trials for a little while.  7  These trials will show\n\n\nthat your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and\n\n\npurifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere\n\n\ngold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials\, it will\n\n\nbring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when\n\n\nJesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.\n\n\n8  You love him even though you have never seen him. Though\n\n\nyou do not see him now\, you trust him; and you rejoice with a\n\n\nglorious\, inexpressible joy.  9  The reward for trusting him will be the\n\n\nsalvation of your souls.\n\n\n \n\n\nI Peter 1:13-16\n\n\n13  So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put\n\n\nall your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when\n\n\nJesus Christ is revealed to the world.  14  So you must live as God’s\n\n\nobedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to\n\n\nsatisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then.  15  But\n\n\nnow you must be holy in everything you do\, just as God who\n\n\nchose you is holy.  16  For the Scriptures say\, “You must be holy\n\n\nbecause I am holy.”\n\n\n \n\n\nMatthew 5:13-16\n\n\n13  “You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost\n\n\nits flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and\n\n\ntrampled underfoot as worthless.\n\n\n14  “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot\n\n\nbe hidden.  15  No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket.\n\n\nInstead\, a lamp is placed on a stand\, where it gives light to\n\n\neveryone in the house.  16  In the same way\, let your good deeds\n\n\nshine out for all to see\, so that everyone will praise your heavenly\n\n\nFather.\n\n\n \n\n\nPhilippians 2:12-16\n\n\n12  Dear friends\, you always followed my instructions when I was\n\n\nwith you. And now that I am away\, it is even more important.\n\n\nWork hard to show the results of your salvation\, obeying God with\n\n\ndeep reverence and fear.  13  For God is working in you\, giving you\n\n\nthe desire and the power to do what pleases him.\n\n\n14  Do everything without complaining and arguing\,  15  so that no one\n\n\ncan criticize you. Live clean\, innocent lives as children of God\,\n\n\nshining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse\n\n\npeople.  16  Hold firmly to the word of life; then\, on the day of\n\n\nChrist’s return\, I will be proud that I did not run the race in vain\n\n\nand that my work was not useless.\n\n\n \n\n\nJeremiah 29:4-7\n\n\n4  This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies\, the God of Israel\, says\n\n\nto all the captives he has exiled to Babylon from\n\n\nJerusalem:  5  “Build homes\, and plan to stay. Plant gardens and\n\n\neat the food they produce.  6  Marry and have children. Then find\n\n\nspouses for them so that you may have many grandchildren.\n\n\nMultiply! Do not dwindle away!  7  And work for the peace and\n\n\nprosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to\n\n\nthe Lord for it\, for its welfare will determine your welfare.”
