SUMMARY:Sunday Worship
DESCRIPTION:Hebrews 10:35-39\n\n\n35  So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember\n\n\nthe great reward it brings you! 36  Patient endurance is what you\n\n\nneed now\, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will\n\n\nreceive all that he has promised.\n\n\n37  “For in just a little while\,\n\n\n    the Coming One will come and not delay.\n\n\n38  And my righteous ones will live by faith.\n\n\n    But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away.”\n\n\n39  But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own\n\n\ndestruction. We are the faithful ones\, whose souls will be saved.\n\n\n \n\n\nNumbers 13:25-33 and 14:1-9\n\n\n25  After exploring the land for forty days\, the men returned 26  to\n\n\nMoses\, Aaron\, and the whole community of Israel at Kadesh in\n\n\nthe wilderness of Paran. They reported to the whole community\n\n\nwhat they had seen and showed them the fruit they had taken\n\n\nfrom the land. 27  This was their report to Moses: “We entered the\n\n\nland you sent us to explore\, and it is indeed a bountiful country—a\n\n\nland flowing with milk and honey. Here is the kind of fruit it\n\n\nproduces. 28  But the people living there are powerful\, and their\n\n\ntowns are large and fortified. We even saw giants there\, the\n\n\ndescendants of Anak! 29  The Amalekites live in the Negev\, and the\n\n\nHittites\, Jebusites\, and Amorites live in the hill country. The\n\n\nCanaanites live along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and\n\n\nalong the Jordan Valley.”\n\n\n30  But Caleb tried to quiet the people as they stood before Moses.\n\n\n“Let’s go at once to take the land\,” he said. “We can certainly\n\n\nconquer it!”\n\n\n31  But the other men who had explored the land with him\n\n\ndisagreed. “We can’t go up against them! They are stronger than\n\n\nwe are!” 32  So they spread this bad report about the land among\n\n\nthe Israelites: “The land we traveled through and explored will\n\n\ndevour anyone who goes to live there. All the people we saw\n\n\nwere huge. 33  We even saw giants there\, the descendants of\n\n\nAnak. Next to them we felt like grasshoppers\, and that’s what they\n\n\nthought\, too!”\n\n\n \n\n\n14  1 Then the whole community began weeping aloud\, and they\n\n\ncried all night. 2  Their voices rose in a great chorus of protest\n\n\nagainst Moses and Aaron. “If only we had died in Egypt\, or even\n\n\nhere in the wilderness!” they complained. 3  “Why is the Lord taking\n\n\nus to this country only to have us die in battle? Our wives and our\n\n\nlittle ones will be carried off as plunder! Wouldn’t it be better for us\n\n\nto return to Egypt?” 4  Then they plotted among themselves\, “Let’s\n\n\nchoose a new leader and go back to Egypt!”\n\n\n5  Then Moses and Aaron fell face down on the ground before the\n\n\nwhole community of Israel. 6  Two of the men who had explored\n\n\nthe land\, Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh\, tore\n\n\ntheir clothing. 7  They said to all the people of Israel\, “The land we\n\n\ntraveled through and explored is a wonderful land! 8  And if the\n\n\nLord is pleased with us\, he will bring us safely into that land and\n\n\ngive it to us. It is a rich land flowing with milk and honey. 9  Do not\n\n\nrebel against the Lord\, and don’t be afraid of the people of the\n\n\nland. They are only helpless prey to us! They have no protection\,\n\n\nbut the Lord is with us! Don’t be afraid of them!”\n\n\n \n\n\nEcclesiastes 11:1-6\n\n\n1  Send your grain across the seas\,\n\n\n    and in time\, profits will flow back to you.\n\n\n2  But divide your investments among many places\,\n\n\n    for you do not know what risks might lie ahead.\n\n\n3  When clouds are heavy\, the rains come down.\n\n\n    Whether a tree falls north or south\, it stays where it falls.\n\n\n4  Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant.\n\n\n    If they watch every cloud\, they never harvest.\n\n\n5  Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the\n\n\nmystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb\, so you\n\n\ncannot understand the activity of God\, who does all things.\n\n\n6  Plant your seed in the morning and keep busy all afternoon\, for\n\n\nyou don’t know if profit will come from one activity or another—or\n\n\nmaybe both.\n\n\n \n\n\nJames 2:14-18\n\n\n14  What good is it\, dear brothers and sisters\, if you say you have\n\n\nfaith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save\n\n\nanyone? 15  Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food\n\n\nor clothing\, 16  and you say\, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay\n\n\nwarm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food\n\n\nor clothing. What good does that do?\n\n\n17  So you see\, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good\n\n\ndeeds\, it is dead and useless.\n\n\n18  Now someone may argue\, “Some people have faith; others\n\n\nhave good deeds.” But I say\, “How can you show me your faith if\n\n\nyou don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good\n\n\ndeeds.”
