And be sure of this: I am with you always\, even to the end of the age.”\n\n\n\nActs 8:26-40\n\n\n26  As for Philip\, an angel of the Lord said to him\, “Go south down the desert road that runs from Jerusalem to Gaza.”  27  So he started out\, and he met the treasurer of Ethiopia\, a eunuch of great authority under the Kandake\, the queen of Ethiopia. The eunuch had gone to Jerusalem to worship\,  28  and he was now returning. Seated in his carriage\, he was reading aloud from the book of the prophet Isaiah.\n\n\n29  The Holy Spirit said to Philip\, “Go over and walk along beside the carriage.”\n\n\n30  Philip ran over and heard the man reading from the prophet Isaiah. Philip asked\, “Do you understand what you are reading?” 31  The man replied\, “How can I\, unless someone instructs me?” And he urged Philip to come up into the carriage and sit with him. \n\n\n32  The passage of Scripture he had been reading was this:\n\n\n“He was led like a sheep to the slaughter.\n\n\n    And as a lamb is silent before the shearers\,\n\n\n    he did not open his mouth.\n\n\n33  He was humiliated and received no justice.\n\n\n    Who can speak of his descendants?\n\n\n    For his life was taken from the earth.”\n\n\n34  The eunuch asked Philip\, “Tell me\, was the prophet talking about himself or someone else?”  35  So beginning with this same Scripture\, Philip told him the Good News about Jesus. 36  As they rode along\, they came to some water\, and the eunuch said\, “Look! There’s some water! Why can’t I be baptized?”  38  He\n\n\nordered the carriage to stop\, and they went down into the water\,\n\n\nand Philip baptized him. 39  When they came up out of the water\, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away. The eunuch never saw him again but went on his way rejoicing.  40  Meanwhile\, Philip found himself farther north at the town of Azotus. He preached the Good News there and in every town along the way until he came to Caesarea.\n\n\n \n\n\nRomans 8:14\n\n\n14  For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.\n\n\n \n\n\n1 Peter 3:13-17\n\n\n13  Now\, who will want to harm you if you are eager to do good?  14  But even if you suffer for doing what is right\, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats.  15  Instead\, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer\, always be ready to explain it.  16  But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you\, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live\n\n\nbecause you belong to Christ.  17  Remember\, it is better to suffer for doing good\, if that is what God wants\, than to suffer for doing wrong!

DESCRIPTION:John 4:1-9\n1  Jesus knew the Pharisees had heard that he was baptizing and making more disciples than John  2  (though Jesus himself didn’t baptize them—his disciples did).  3  So he left Judea and returned\nto Galilee. 4  He had to go through Samaria on the way.  5  Eventually he came to the Samaritan village of Sychar\, near the field that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.  6  Jacob’s well was there; and Jesus\, tired from\nthe long walk\, sat wearily beside the well about noontime.  7  Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water\, and Jesus said to her\, “Please give me a drink.”  8  He was alone at the time because his disciples had gone into the village to buy some food. 9  The woman was surprised\, for Jews refuse to have anything to do with Samaritans. She said to Jesus\, “You are a Jew\, and I am\na Samaritan woman. Why are you asking me for a drink?” \nJohn 4:10-26\n10  Jesus replied\, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to\, you would ask me\, and I would give you living water.” 11  “But sir\, you don’t have a rope or a bucket\,” she said\, “and this\nwell is very deep. Where would you get this living water?  12  And besides\, do you think you’re greater than our ancestor Jacob\, who gave us this well? How can you offer better water than he and his\nsons and his animals enjoyed?” 13  Jesus replied\, “Anyone who drinks this water will soon become\nthirsty again.  14  But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh\, bubbling spring within them\, giving them eternal life.” 15  “Please\, sir\,” the woman said\, “give me this water! Then I’ll never be thirsty again\, and I won’t have to come here to get water.”\n16  “Go and get your husband\,” Jesus told her. 17  “I don’t have a husband\,” the woman replied. Jesus said\, “You’re right! You don’t have a husband—  18  for you have had five husbands\, and you aren’t even married to the man you’re living with now. You certainly spoke the truth!” 19  “Sir\,” the woman said\, “you must be a prophet.  20  So tell me\, why is it that you Jews insist that Jerusalem is the only place of\nworship\, while we Samaritans claim it is here at Mount Gerizim\, where our ancestors worshiped?”\n21  Jesus replied\, “Believe me\, dear woman\, the time is coming when it will no longer matter whether you worship the Father on this mountain or in Jerusalem.  22  You Samaritans know very little about the one you worship\, while we Jews know all about him\, for salvation comes through the Jews.  23  But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way.  24  For God is Spirit\, so those who\nworship him must worship in spirit and in truth.” 25  The woman said\, “I know the Messiah is coming—the one whois called Christ. When he comes\, he will explain everything to us.” 26  Then Jesus told her\, “I am the Messiah!” \nJohn 4:28-30\, 39-42\n28  The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village\, telling everyone\,  29  “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?”  30  So the people came streaming from the village to see him. 39  Many Samaritans from the village believed in Jesus because the woman had said\, “He told me everything I ever did!”  40  When they came out to see him\, they begged him to stay in their village. So he stayed for two days\,  41  long enough for many more to hear his message and believe.  42  Then they said to the woman\, “Now we believe\, not just because of what you told us\, but because we have heard him ourselves. Now we know that he is indeed the Savior of the world.”

DESCRIPTION:Shipwrights Food Pantry Ministry\n\nOn the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month\, the Shipwrights Food Pantry provides a hot meal\,  groceries and other items for those facing food insecurity in Lewisville and the surrounding area. \nIf you would like to participate in this ministry\,  the time runs from 8:30am - 12:30pm.  Volunteers meet in the Serenity Church/FCCU parking lot at 8:30 on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month for preparations. \nFor more information reach out to Ken Blackerby at: 817-492-6983

DESCRIPTION:Mark 5:1-20\n\n\n1  So they arrived at the other side of the lake\, in the region of the Gerasenes. 2  When Jesus climbed out of the boat\, a man possessed by an evil spirit came out from the tombs to meet him.  3  This man lived in the burial caves and could no longer be restrained\, even with a chain.  4  Whenever he was put into chains and shackles—as he often was—he snapped the chains from his wrists and smashed\n\n\nthe shackles. No one was strong enough to subdue him.  5  Day and night he wandered among the burial caves and in the hills\, howling and cutting himself with sharp stones. 6  When Jesus was still some distance away\, the man saw him\, ran to meet him\, and bowed low before him.  7  With a shriek\, he screamed\, “Why are you interfering with me\, Jesus\, Son of the Most High God? In the name of God\, I beg you\, don’t torture me!”  8  For Jesus had already said to the spirit\, “Come out of the man\, you evil spirit.” 9  Then Jesus demanded\, “What is your name?” And he replied\, “My name is Legion\, because there are many of us inside this man.”  10  Then the evil spirits begged him again and again not to send them to some distant place. 11  There happened to be a large herd of pigs feeding on the hillside nearby.  12  “Send us into those pigs\,” the spirits begged. “Let us enter them.”  13  So Jesus gave them permission. The evil spirits came out of the man and entered the pigs\, and the entire herd of about 2\,000 pigs plunged down the steep hillside into the lake and drowned in the water. 14  The herdsmen fled to the nearby town and the surrounding countryside\, spreading the news as they ran. People rushed out to see what had happened.  15  A crowd soon gathered around Jesus\, and they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons. He was sitting there fully clothed and perfectly sane\, and they were all afraid.  16  Then those who had seen what happened told the others about the demon-possessed man and the pigs.  17  And the crowd began pleading with Jesus to go away and leave them alone. 18  As Jesus was getting into the boat\, the man who had been demon possessed begged to go with him.  19  But Jesus\, “No\, go home to your family\, and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been.”  20  So the man started off to visit the Ten Towns of that region and began to proclaim the great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed at what he told them.
