Rev Shannon Grubbs, Pastor
Rev. Shannon Grubbs currently serves as Senior Pastor of First Christian Church United in Lewisville, TX. She has been serving this congregation since October 2021. Prior to serving in Lewisville, she served as Senior Pastor of First Christian Church in Moore, Oklahoma; Solo Pastor of First Christian Church in Stephenville, Texas; Associate Pastor of First Christian Church in Plano, Texas and Children’s Pastor of East Ridge Park Christian Church in Mesquite, Texas.
She received her Master of Divinity from Texas Christian University and was ordained in June 2016. Throughout her 23 years in ministry, Rev. Grubbs has served the Southwest Region of the Christian Church faithfully as a member of the North Texas Area Camp and Conference Committee, a board member of the Lake Brownwood Christian Retreat Center, chairperson of the North Texas Area Christian Education committee, as the Central Area representative on the Christian Church of the Southwest Disciples Women Executive Board, and as the secretary of the Central Area Council. She has served as a volunteer chaplain at Texas Health Harris Hospital and is a trained Stephen Leader/Minister.
Rev. Grubbs’ main goal is to help people develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as well as encourage them to allow Christ to be the center of their life and family. She and her husband, Paul, married in 1999. Together they have raised three sons: Todd, Ian, and Trey; and she is the proud “Nana” of her grandsons, Jett and Everett, and granddaughter, Ivy.

Corey McCurry, Choir Director
Corey McCurry has been playing piano since the age of nine. He has been serving as a church pianist since the age of twelve. He studied piano first with his elementary school teacher in Pittsburg, TX. He later attended both Texas A&M – Commerce and the University of Texas at Tyler where he earned a bachelor’s degree in piano performance. He has both played and directed music at various churches since his musical journey began. Corey now serves at First Christian Church United in Lewisville and bi-vocationally tunes and repairs pianos as well as teaches piano privately. Our heritage
First Christian Church United, FCCU, is a family of Believers who are committed to following Jesus Christ. We are not perfect, but we are being transformed daily by the love of Jesus as we follow His teachings. We strive to engage the community and foster a family of faith with an authentic love rooted in the truth of the Gospel. FCCU is committed to serving others with the help of the Holy Spirit. We currently serve the local community through our partnerships with Christian Community Action, Metrocrest Services, and Open Arms Sober Living to name a few.
We are a new congregation that formed in December of 2019 when families from First Christian Church Lewisville and First Christian Church Carrollton joined together to serve the greater community after the closing of both church buildings. We are discovering the joy of being one family with diverse backgrounds, traditions, and giftings.
Our worship services include Communion each Sunday, as well as Biblical preaching, and a welcoming fellowship. Everyone is welcome at First Christian Church United, and there is a place already set for you at the Table.
